Teen Fellowship of Homeschoolers (TFOH)

GROUP POLICY STATEMENT (updated 8/2/25)

All homeschooled teens and their families are welcome in this community. However, we ask that all leaders affirm and uphold the principles outlined in our faith statement, both in their leadership and daily lives.

We are committed to fostering a safe and respectful environment for all members of our group.  As you entrust your children and teens to our care, we take this responsibility seriously. To ensure a positive experience for everyone, we ask that all members adhere to the following Code of Conduct:

Code of Conduct

1. Respectful Communication

•              No foul language. Profanity and offensive speech, including language of a sexual nature, are strictly prohibited.

•              No bullying or harassment. Bullying—whether physical, verbal, or emotional—and any form of sexual harassment will not be tolerated.

2. Good Sportsmanship

•              Youth participants are expected to use encouraging and respectful language during sports and group activities. Insults, taunting, or unsportsmanlike conduct will not be permitted.

3. Public Displays of Affection (PDA)

•              PDA should be minimal and appropriate. Holding hands is acceptable; anything beyond that is discouraged.  Games promoting intimate physical contact like Spin the Bottle are prohibited.

4. Sibling Attendance

•              We welcome families with multiple children. However, siblings under the age of 12 may only attend events if accompanied and supervised by a parent or guardian. (Parents must supervise their children under the age of 12; we are not).

•              Younger siblings may not participate in the teen-specific activities.

•              Certain events may not be suitable for younger children. If sibling attendance is restricted, it will be noted in the event description. Please respect the teens’ space and group dynamics.

5. Drop-Off & Pick-Up Policy

•              Teens (ages 12–18) may be dropped off at events if parents/guardians have completed the required onboarding form, which includes emergency contact details, medical release and authorized pick-up person.

•              Pick-up Responsibility:

  • Authorized pick-up persons must arrive on time at the event’s stated end time.
  • If someone other than the listed authorized pick-up person will be collecting your child, please inform the event host in advance (via a Facebook event comment or text message).

6. RSVP Policy

•              Many events have limited capacity. Please honor your RSVP commitment and arrive on time.

•              If you RSVP and fail to attend an event (especially if others are on the waitlist), it may prevent others from participating. Repeat no-shows may result in removal from the group.

•              If plans change, please update your RSVP on Facebook at least 24 hours before the event.

7. Dress Code

We encourage respectful and appropriate attire at all events. While we recognize different perspectives on clothing, the following guidelines apply:

•              No midriff-baring crop tops.

•              No logos promoting alcohol, drugs, or sexual content.

•              No shorts or skirts that expose the buttocks.

•              Undergarments and excessive cleavage should not be visible.

8. Swimsuit Policy

•              Girls: One-piece swimsuits or tankinis are acceptable as long as the midriff is covered. Swimsuits must offer modest coverage, and thong-style bottoms are not permitted.

•              Boys: Swim trunks must provide full coverage; Speedos are not allowed.

9. No Drugs or Alcohol

•              The use, possession, or distribution of illicit drugs or alcohol at our events is strictly prohibited and will result in immediate removal from the group.

•              If a minor is found in possession of illegal substances, parents/guardians will be notified, and law enforcement may be contacted if required by Nevada law.

10. Respect for Group Administrators & Members

•              All members must treat group administrators, event hosts, and fellow members with courtesy and respect.

•              As volunteers, our administrators dedicate their time to organizing and managing events. Disrespectful or abusive behavior toward administrators or members will not be tolerated and may result in dismissal from the group.

11. Photography Policy

•              Parents frequently take photos at events and share them on social media. By participating in our group, you acknowledge that photos may be taken and shared.

•              If a parent/guardian does not wish for their child to be photographed, they must provide written notice to an administrator.

12. Remaining On-Site:  For the safety of our teens, event participants are expected to stay at the event location for the duration of the event.  Teens must be within sight of their event host at all times.  Wandering off-site is prohibited.

13. Disciplinary Actions & Dismissal

•              If a member (youth or adult) violates any of these policies, the individual and their parent/guardian will receive a written warning.

•              Repeat violations may lead to immediate dismissal and permanent exclusion from the group.

•              Teen Fellowship of Homeschoolers reserves the right to issue warnings or dismiss members at its sole discretion. Dismissal decisions are final and not subject to appeal.

14. Assumption of Risk & Liability Waiver

•              Participation in our events comes with inherent risks.

•              By attending, parents/guardians acknowledge and assume all risks associated with participation, including but not limited to injuries, accidents, or unforeseen incidents.

•              Teen Fellowship of Homeschoolers, its administrators, event hosts, volunteers, and leadership will not be held liable for any injuries, accidents, or damages, including death, to the fullest extent permitted by Nevada law.

•              For drop-off events, parents/guardians must provide a signed medical authorization form allowing emergency treatment if necessary. Event hosts and volunteers are not authorized to provide medical care beyond basic first aid. In the event of an emergency, every reasonable effort will be made to contact a parent or guardian before seeking medical treatment.
